Greg Hildebrandt and The Spiderwebart Gallery Appearing at the 2019 Baltimore Comic-Con in Booth Number 2505-2405 BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - October 15, 2019 - Greg Hildebrandt - Born in 1939 in Detroit Michigan, Greg Hildebrandt is a legendary American illustrator. After several years working in an animation studio and for the Catholic Church, Greg really broke out and onto the scene in 1975. Along with his late twin brother Tim, the duo became known as The Brothers Hildebrandt by illustrating perhaps the definitive version of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy for Ballantine Books. Hot on the heels of the astronomical success of the LOTR calendars, they were hired by Lucas Film to illustrate a poster for a small unknown space opera by the name of Star Wars. For the Brothers, there was no looking back. Flash forward to 1994, the Brothers Hildebrandt created the epic 140 Marvel Masterpiece trading card set. Independent from his brother, Greg has had great success. Illustrating over 100 pinup images for his American Beauties Pinup series, covers for DC, IDW, and Marvel Comics, and numerous illustrated classics. Greg will be meeting fans and signing all weekend long! The Spiderwebart Gallery - Owned by Greg Hildebrandt and operated by Jean Scrocco, the Spiderwebart Gallery is an online art gallery and artist agency. Spiderwebart not only represents Greg Hildebrandt, but several other artists as well including Mark Romanoski, Dani Serra, Holly Golightly, and is the exclusive dealer for Walt Simonson original art. The Spiderwebart Gallery will be at booth number 2505-2405 and have a ton of original art to view and purchase. Included in the offerings at the booth will be some of the variant covers that Greg has created for Marvel Comics and IDW Publishing, original gallery works on black board by Greg, tin signs, prints, and numerous representations from their other artists. Mark Romanoski - From North Plainfield, New Jersey, Mark cannot remember a time when art wasn't a part of his life. In addition to drawing, Mark also had an enduring fondness for comic books and fantasy-related material. Mr. Romanoski graduated in 1992 from Kean College with a BFA in illustration. However, he didn't become serious about his art until sometime later when he met Tim Hildebrandt. The renowned artist made him realize how much he had to learn. Mark recalls Tim telling him that perseverance must be a God-given talent because, so few people have it. After struggling on his own for a while, Mark was introduced to DC Comics artist Joe DeVito. Joe opened up a whole new world for the young artist. He taught Mark an academic approach to illustration and convinced him to enroll at the Art Students League in New York. He spent two years there studying a wide variety of paintings. Afterward, he enrolled in DuCret School of Arts in Plainfield, NJ where he studied under Peter Caras, another well-known artist who is a protégé of Norman Rockwell and Jim Bama. Most recently, Mark's biggest job, literally, was for the World Wrestling Federation. Mark created the image for the WWF's pay-per-view event "Royal Rumble" in 2001. The WWF used the image to create a banner over twenty feet tall that hung above their restaurant in Manhattan. Holly Golightly - Holly G! grew up in NYC. After spending her high school years at Anglo-American, she did a year at Bard for Film, a year at Parson's School of Design for Storyboarding, and then finally graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a degree in Acting. Navigating careers in Education, Fashion Design, and Children's Entertainment, Holly finally followed her bliss into comic books! Holly G! has worked on many well-known characters, some of which are Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Cheryl Blossom, Josie & the Pussycats, and Betty & Veronica. Currently residing in PA with her True Love, Husband Jim Balent, she is VP to his company, BroadSword Comics, as well as colourist/productionist on Jim's Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose, and creator of her own projects: School Bites, a manga about a school where Vampires learn to drink responsibly and her Graphic novel, a collection of comic strips based on experiences with their cat, Prince Pangur Ban the Fluffy. Dani Serra - Daniele Serra is a comic artist and illustrator who lives in the beautiful country of Italy where he was born and raised. Mr. Serra's career as a professional illustrator began in 2008. Serra's unique style has been well-received, and his work has been published in Europe, Australia, United States, and Japan! As a comic artist, Mr. Serra's clients include DC Comics, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, and the opportunity to work with authors such as Jeff Mariotte and Joe Lansdale. He has also created pieces for the Hellraiser comic under the supervision of Clive Barker. As an illustrator, Mr. Serra has worked for Cemetery Dance, Weird Tales magazine, PS Publishing, Dark Region Press, and many other publishers. In 2012, Daniele Serra was honored to win the British Fantasy Award for "Best Artist". Daniele's preferred mediums are watercolor and ink. His combination of the two results in beautifully dramatic, haunting pieces that are otherworldly and surreal.
