FIRST STATE COMIC CON welcomes PLB COMICS

Several indie comics publishers will also join the guest list this Sunday, January 14, at The First State Comic Con at the Mill Creek Fire Hall, 3900 Kirkwood highway, Marshallton (Wilmington)  Delaware.

PLB Comics is an independent group of artists and writers based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  They have five titles in print, with more in production.

As their website reveals (http://www.plbcomics.com ), their roots go back to 1987 when brothers Matthew and Josh Shockley were producing independent comics — at their elementary school.  Their interest in writing, drawing and producing their own comics never wavered. Finally,in 2006 they joined with other talented contributors to create their very first professionally produced comic book in PLB Presents #1.  Sixteen issues total have been produced of The Fall, Gideon & Sebastian, The PLB Halloween Special, and Jellyman & Toast.

Mainstays of the current PLB Comics remain Matthew and Josh Shockley, as well as James Dufendach.  Dufendach works as PLB’s marketing support, script and copy editor, letterer, and sometimes colorist and inker.  He has also been instrumental in helping set up PLB’s Creating Comics seminars at local schools and libraries.
