ALTERNA Offering Halloween Bundle Via INDIE GO GO

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Last year, Alterna Comics offered a Halloween bundle of comics to offer trick or treaters at a reasonable price using newsprint to reduce costs.  This year they are launching a second campaign on Kickstarter.  Below are some details. For full infomation go to the campaign website at  . . . https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alternaween-2-newsprint-s-revenge#/

Overview
Last year we launched our first ever AlternaWeen and thanks to nearly 500 backers, it was a success! We were able to put our comics in the hands of trick or treaters everywhere as well as expand our distribution into stores like Sheetz. This year we're back again with even more comics and fun for readers of all ages. AlternaWeen is an important event for many children as these comics will be the first ones that they've ever read -- and it'll all be because of YOUR support.

AlternaWeen is BACK!

Thanks to hundreds of people all over the world, our first AlternaWeen was a hit! Thousands of children got one of our comics as trick-or-treats for Halloween, nearly 15,000 comics in total! This Halloween, we're back at it again with even more comics and fun items and rewards.

By using our comics as trick-or-treats, you'll be able to help grow a new generation of comic book readers and creators.  The funds that we raise will go towards helping us to expand our product line into a variety of stores and depending on the stretch goals we unlock, we'll be able to get our comics into convenience stores, grocery stores, dollar stores, and more!

Last year's AlternaWeen campaign allowed us to purchase a membership at RangeMe -- a site that connects companies with product buyers at a large variety of stores. Because of this membership, we were able to get our comics into Sheetz and we were also able to begin communication with several store buyers. The road is a long one with things like this, but this is an important step moving forward and it's one of the only ways we'll be able to continue to expand our product line.

Distribution expansion is an intensive process and can be costly depending on how much product is needed after a store accepts a pitch for product placement. The funds raised will allow us to take the necessary next steps.

More comics in more places

For those that don't know, Alterna has been around since 2006. We mostly published graphic novels in the first ten years of our existence and in May 2017 we launched a single issue line that featured interiors printed on newsprint. Printing on newsprint is what allows us to have such affordable cover prices.

Part of our newsprint initiative started in 2017, was to also get comics back on newsstands. We make comics for everyone at Alterna but the sad truth is that comic books aren't as readily available for everyone as they used to be.  Over the past two years, we've taken steps to become one of the only publishing companies with newsstand distribution along with traditional comic shop distribution. We're also working with dozens of comic shop retailers directly to get our comics into their stores on a more consistent basis.

Our comics have been carried in stores like Toys "R" Us, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Sheetz, and dozens of independent newsstands and even international chains in Poland, Germany, France, and more.

Our $5000 goal will go towards reward production and shipping, membership at RangeMe, as well as printing the additional comics that we'll need to continue expanding our distribution. We also have stretch goals in place that will help us secure promotional product placements in a variety of stores, enable us to print more comics for more distribution, and will go towards all of the additional supplies that are needed for such an undertaking. We'll have more information on stretch goals once we reach that point.
