Update on WELCOME TO DUNWICH, Videos, Music

EDITOR'S NOTE:  It’s been awhile since indie comics creator Gary Scott Beatty gifted us with a new column.  Here’s the latest update from the master.  Take it away, Gary . . . . . . .
Hey there from Aazurn Secret Headquarters, where my intention to whip through art pages for the second half of the Welcome to Dunwich graphic novel was derailed due to a worn out Wacom tablet cord. Not the tablet itself, mind you, the cord that connects it to my Macbook.
All I have to show you this week is inks of Rev. Hoadley's demise, which turned out pretty good, I think. I can't show you the panel immediately to the left of this, because it's only a good start at an illustration, not a real illustration, yet. I was ready to ink it into existence when the cord failed.

This is the second cord I've worn out this year. I replaced a cord to my external hard drive this spring by buying a new external to use for permanent storage.
I should be thankful, I guess, the equipment is holding up just fine, but I wish they'd manufacture the cords sturdier. My habit of traveling with computer, drive and tablet adds to chord stress, I guess, but isn't that what a notebook computer is for?

Director Alfred Hitchcock talked practical effects, involving the audience and dealing with actors on The Dick Cavett Show in 1972. Hitch said audiences enjoy "dipping their toe into the cold water of fear." This is now online at Shout Factory TV.  Go to:

Hitch's movie Frenzy was released in 1972. The director's odd sense of humor, enthusiasm, and direct, dry humor is always entertaining. Some good stories here, including Hitch's connection with the atom bomb.

Some of you may have been asking yourself, "I wonder what happened to Gary's Prog Horror One music download?" You can listen to a bit and, for the cost of a cheap beer, instantly download the whole 48 minutes here. Free illustrated liner notes booklet with purchase.  Go to:

You may prefer less manic, stone crazy music from Icelandic alternative creative Björk, with amazing digital video flourishes by director Tobias Gremmler. If you like to stretch your mind cells a bit experience Tabula Rasa, from the 2017 album Utopia, here.  Go to:

Cords will wear out, but challenges allow us to practice life navigation. Land on your feet, you know you can. You've done it before and will have to do it again, that's just you living. We have music, and Hitchcock, and each other, and summer is just burning away out there. Enjoy it!

In glorious service to our Aazurn overlords,
Gary Scott Beatty
