JIMMY’S BASTARDS, VOLUME 2: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? by Garth Ennis, writer and Russ Braun, artist.  (Aftershock Comics, September 2018)  Paperback, 120 pages.  ISBN # 1935002589 / 9781935002581  Reprints Jimmy’s Bastards #6-9.

Summary on the Goodreads website . . . . . .

Jimmy Regent, Britain's number one super-spy, has got it all: intrigue, adventure, a license to shoot whoever he likes and beautiful women falling at his feet. He also has a new partner who isn't quite as impressed by Jimmy as all other women appear to be. Now, there’s a price to pay for Jimmy's multiple romantic conquests ― the results of which are about to come calling in the worst possible way...

From the creator and writer of Preacher and The Boys!

My Five-Star review on the Goodreads website . . . . .

This concludes the story begun in Volume 1, and it's even funnier and more over-the-top. This is definitely not a politically correct novel, and thank God for that! More ultra-violence and dark humor.

The creators make a great team. I like this just as much if not more than THE BOYS. The facial expressions of the characters are priceless, and the art is amazing. There is a section in the back that gives insights into Braun's creative process. He's a master.

Ennis knows just how to off-set the violence with black comedy. There are so many clever moments here: a super-secret agent reduced to functioning in his pajamas with a teddy bear, the big reveal about his partner, a castrated Idi Amin reduced to a servant role, a crazy driven villain.

The ending leaves itself open to a sequel, but I can't imagine what could follow that would top or equal this. Perhaps best to leave it be and move onto something else.
