Gary Scott Beatty Checks In During His Break

Terry Cronin's The Healing came in at a whopping 245 percent of goal Saturday. Thank you to everyone who backed. I'm excited to put it together for you. This is a good book, you won't be disappointed.

Warren Ellis' Castlevania, Season 3, hits Netflix this Thursday. Dracula may be dead, but it doesn't look promising for humans in this trailer.

In the voice casting is '60s Italian gothic film actress Barbara Steele (Black Sunday). Yes, that Barbara Steele from classic horror.

"One day hell will be emptied and it's doors will rattle in the wind."

I like my horror strange, so H.P. Lovecraft: Two Left Arms, free with ads on TubiTV, is my kind of film.

A couple of qualifiers. First, movies with Lovecraft in the title have as little to do with that master of horror as did 1970s Vincent Price films with Poe in the title. I have learned to ignore these titles and simply take these movies as movies.

A reviewer complained that much of the movie was spoken in Italian. It is, but don't sweat it -- we viewers are supposed to be as confused as the main character, who also doesn't speak Italian.

Some may have trouble hearing what is said in English, due to the heavy accents. If that's the case, just go with it. The mood will pull you through.

Ancient sets and extreme lighting are reminiscent of the best giallo movies of the '70s. It's moody but doesn't drag. What's going on? The answer is extremely simple.

H.P. Lovecraft: Two Left Arms is recommended. Watch it here.

If you've just had too much horror, TubiTV is also running 1988's Jem, free online with ads. Jem and the Holograms, battling other bands like the Misfits and the Stingers, keep the Starlight foundation going. My oldest daughter was a major fan when she was eight.

See Jem and the Holograms here.

Next week I just have to show you what's been going on with Welcome to Dunwich. Yes, it's been years in the making. This story is epic.

I'm out (drops mic). Take care of yourself and those you love. Choose your arguments carefully and don't let negative people with destructive messages suck power from your attentions. Turn on to spring and turn off Facebook.

In glorious service to our Aazurn overlords,
Gary Scott Beatty
