Preview, Notes On SHE - - Launching On Kickstarter

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Don't be surprised if in the coming weeks and months comics publishers pull back on their new title launch dates and reschedule them.  I fully expect that to happen, and have already heard some rumors about it.  Here's some news from Tyler James from ComixTribe about his decision to move forward with a new book.  Of course, Kickstarter offer an alternative platform and doesn't require the same distribution and pickup, since the books will arrive in the mail.  Maybe this method will see increased usage in the coming months?  Wait and see.  Meanwhile, here's Tyler's thoughts on the matter . . . . . . . .

So... it's been a crazy week, hasn't it?
Tyler James, publisher of ComixTribe here and I'm popping in your inbox with a few quick updates on the latest developments here at ComixTribe.
But first, I just want to say that I hope you and your family are safe and healthy and doing as well as can be expected in these challenging times.
I'm feeling blessed that despite having to pull my two-year old from daycare, because both my wife and I work from home, so far, the coronavirus hasn't caused all that much disruption to our daily life.
(Said two year old recently discovered how to escape his crib, which has caused FAR MORE disruption for us so far!)
Of course, as a Comics Publisher, the sudden global crisis has presented an interesting dilemma...
DO WE STILL GO AHEAD WITH OUR PLANNED LAUNCHES?
Or, do we wait until everything settles out?
In addition to toiling away at what's next for our beloved series like SINK and WAILING BLADE, you may be aware that for the last year, we've been working with award-winning writer Ryan K Lindsay and up-and-coming illustrator Chris Panda on an awesome, totally unique sci-fi bounty hunter graphic novella called SHE
The book is 100% done, absolutely stunning, and the team was ready to launch it next week...
And then, global madness set it.
So, this week, the team has been discussing what to do.
Option 1: Go forward full-steam ahead, pandemic be damned.
Option 2: Hit the breaks, and wait until everything settles.
Honestly, it's a very tough call... and there are no easy answers...
But we've decided that the best way we can be of value during these trying times is to STAY THE COURSE.
See, in addition to being an exceptional educator and shaper of young minds in his native Australia, Ryan K Lindsay is an incredibly gifted storyteller... and now more than ever, people need the escape that a well-woven tale brings.
Likewise, Chris Panda's talents lie in making eye-popping visuals that are going to be so-well served in the glorious oversized format SHE will be collected in.
And one of my own talents is running our Kickstarter campaigns as immersive online events to rally our fans, have some fun, and deliver great content to great people (you!)
While all three of us would certainly survive if we pushed the SHE launch off for months or years or whenever this whole thing blows over, we started thinking...
...what if EVERYONE did that?
What if every creator canceled their projects?
What if every book launch was put on hold?
How devastating would that be?
What would the impact be to all the people who get to share in a successful launch, from the coders at Kickstarter, to the printers, postal workers, and on the way down to backers who made it happen and reap the benefits in an awesome book on their shelves?
It'd be pretty damn bad!
And so, while we personally can't develop vaccines and aren't qualified to treat the afflicted, the one thing we absolutely can do is create a stunning hardcover graphic novella and run an outstanding, immersive Kickstarter launches for our fans.
So, that's what we're going to do.
We wanted to let you know that SHE is still coming. We'll be launching SHE: At the Tower of All That is Knownon TUESDAY, MARCH 24!
If you're able to back and love action-packed sci-fi espionage stories with twists-a-plenty, we hope you will.

Here's What to Do Now...

If you're with us on soldiering on and continuing to do what we all do best in the face of this unprecedented challenge, here are three things you can do RIGHT NOW:
What this will do is make sure Kickstarter notifies you the nano-second the Kickstarter launches so you can get access to all early-backer rewards and any limited pledges we have available. It'll also tell Kickstarter that SHE is not to be missed and get us more love on the KS homepage.

The world needs all of us at our best right now.
Best,
Tyler James
