Update From GARY SCOTT BEATTY

MuskeCon, one of the few 2020 conventions where I planned to exhibit, has been cancelled for this Saturday, due to concerns about COVID-19. While you're hunkerin' down at home, don't let TV rot your brain, pick up a book or three and read!

My books can all be found at StrangeHorror.com, including the new Gods of Aazurn Bundle easy download, and the Caliber physical graphic novels.

If for some reason you haven't read H.P. Lovecraft works, you need to settle back in a comfy chair on a dark night and give them a read online here. Good shorts to start with are The Colour out of Space, Cool Air, The Rats in the Walls, Pickman's Model, and The Shadow over Innsmouth.

Friend of Aazurn Terry Cronin is on Bleeding Cool here, talking about the thoughts and planning behind his recent, successful Kickstarter, posted by Founder Rich Johnston himself.

Happy to hear Richard Stanley (Color Out of Space) pronounces Cthulhu the same way I do. Hear him talking about writing and filming horror on the Penning Terror podcast, part of the Nightmare University podcast, here at AudioBoom, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

For those of you keeping track of where Roger Moore's The Saint is playing for free online (legally), five seasons are up on Shout Factory TV. It might be the whole series -- I run into conflicting research whether there are five or six seasons. It's also running on TubiTV.

Self confident, with looks, wealth and wit, Simon Templar, known as The Saint, was a bit of a dandy, enjoying the finer things in life. I have read many of Leslie Charteris' pulp stories, which began in 1928, and in my mind Moore is much more believable as The Saint than he was as "license to kill" James Bond 007.

The best Saint, in my opinion, is Vincent Price's run on the radio show, from 1944 to 1951. Velvet-voiced Price was perfect for the character.

I'm so glad this album is available! It's 5 Guys Neatest Hits, including "Who Made the Egg Salad Sandwiches" and "Let's Have a Party in My Rec Room."

This is John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas, and Rick Moranis on SCTV, a Canadian television sketch comedy show that ran between 1976 and 1984. It was created as an offshoot from Toronto's Second City troupe. I prefer the early ones because an obvious lack of budget made them even funnier.

It's a grand test for America. Can we work together for the common good? Or will our football game mentality take over and that "winners or losers" mindset push us into the grave?

We'll get through this pandemic working together. Sure, there will be some that bristle at every inconvenience and refuse to play nice. We can only hope the virus gods accept them as sacrifices early on. Wash your hands often. Avoid crowds. Fear is the mind killer, and lord knows there isn't a lot of thinking going on out there these days, so don't panic, plan.

In glorious service to our Aazurn overlords,
Gary Scott Beatty
