Gary Scott Beatty's Preview Art; More Video Nasties

You didn't ask for it, but here it is! I worked Covid 19 into a free chapter of Gods of Aazurn over at Webtoons.

What does evil do in the face of greater evil? Answer: hunker down like the rest of us.

This chapter, however, isn't comedic. It's more amusing. I'm not taking the horror out of this strip just to land a few laughs. At least not yet -- yes, your Likes, Subscribes, and high Ratings are still needed so I'm not creating in a vacuum over there!

Awwww, Alexis and Lux are now all grown up.

If you're interested in the inks and coloring process, I break it down for Backers here on Patreon.

Much like every other small business with a storefront right now, comic shops are in dire straits. Don't forget these passionate business owners.

"You want a comic book industry at the end of this year? Fight for it, now. Talk about comics, post about them, share any joy or insight you have. And as a strange twist this industry could do more that just survive, it (might) come out of the fight in much better shape than it went in." -- Douglas Paszkiewicz, Arsenic Lullaby

Doug's sort of humor isn't for everyone. I, being somewhat crazy, think it's brilliant. You can check it out here.

As you remember, I'm working my way through the Video Nasties, the UK's list of banned VHS movies. I found a couple that, while not brilliant, are entertaining.

Richard Basehart's (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea) impressive acting turns Mansion of the Doomed (1976) into a surprisingly realistic story of a surgeon slipping slowly into madness.

Director Michael Pataki could have turned this eyeball trauma movie into a Hammer Film styled, gothic, horror house thing, but opted for subtle, gradual and creepy.

Mansion of the Doomed is one Video Nasty I can happily recommend, here on TubiTV.

Inseminoid (1981), is a sort of low budget Alien.

I was fairly impressed at how cult favorite Norman J. Warren used minimal props, caves, and '50s smoke-and-light effects, old fashioned even in 1981, to transport viewers to another world.

That being said, this isn't a very clever movie. For instance, if you're going to write dialogue for a group of interplanetary archaeologists you have to write things smart people would say.

Still, the pacing is good and once the action start to pop Inseminoid is a not-bad horror sci-fi adventure.

Inseminoid is free with ads here on TubiTV.

It's so easy when under self quarantine to over eat and over drink, because there's boredom and you can. Don't! Schedule that stuff so you can control it. The world won't go away if you choose to ignore the news for the rest of the day. Stress is a killer, too. Breathe, take in spring going on all over, get outside if you can. You've got this!

Stay safe and be happy.
