Hallo, Comics Family!

Everybody still with us? Are you getting outside enough? Have your dreams been vivid and bizarre?

HI.

In the past couple of weeks we've figured how to juggle the incoming custom requests,  orders for things we've sold out of,  where else to get different books bc either the distributor is closed or they're only shipping full cartons (instead of 1 or 2 each of a title),  finally started watching Ozark,  and also finally weeded the front garden because our neighbor pleaded with me to help her use the pile of mulch in her driveway (holler out to Holland Mulch on Edgemoor Rd!)

PLUS a different neighbor brought us frozen chicken breasts & a sack of oranges, my mom dropped off soup, and my big bro got Death Wish coffee delivered to us not a moment too late!

I know many of you are reeling and anxious and zoned out and wound up and I wish terribly that we could comfort you.

To help close the distance, we've been going live on Facebook a few times a week, sometimes with sales, sometimes just to check in, often because I go a little loopy after too many hours in an empty shop - I feel like the last person left on an abandoned spaceship....

Mostly though, we're doing oK: Focusing on what's in front of us and not putting too much energy into what is likely going to change in days or weeks.
That brings us to what some of you have been waiting for....

What's up with New Comics?

This article from The Beat does a pretty fine job at summing up the whole "DC is releasing some books early" hubbub.

Based on current projections of re-opening we're expecting New Comics to be releasing near the middle of May.

Hang in there!! We've got PLENTY on hand to get you through the drought : ]
So, this is pretty humbling and a mite awkward, but that's where we are.

In the spirit of community and providing a space for people who need one, one of my closest friends -and former TCBS employee- created a

Many of you have already supported us with social media shares, gentle nudges to your neighbors, and with your own orders of books I know you really don't need -  our hearts are full and we're not completely freaked out about our future.

As we accept each order and each contribution we reconfirm our pact to work even harder to make this place stick around for a good long time.

If you're able to share or donate, we'd be deeply grateful.
If YOU need help of any kind, PLEASE please let us know. We can help discretely!

All our love & strength & peace ~
