GSB On Art, Old Time Radio Mystery, Free Spooky TV

Although the Army of the Dead are taking their own sweet time getting over to the Gods of Aazurn webcomic, I'm having a ball illustrating them.

GOA has always had a 50's EC comic, 70's underground vibe to it and that's really coming across in the armies.

BONUS! Anyone interested in the Photoshop layers it took to make this page can go to Patreon and look -- the post is "public" this time so anyone can see.

If you know anyone who could benefit from this kind of process breakdown, send them over! I often get into process in Patreon posts.

There was such an interest in the Inner Sanctum link I shared last week I'll offer you another.

I usually don't play favorites, but CBS Radio Mystery Theater is so consistently awesome it's at the top of my list of classic radio horror.

Listen to or download CBS Radio Mystery Theater episodes at this website dedicated solely to the show.

It's a testament to producer Himan Brown's talent that this show was launched in 1974 at all, well past radio's golden age. It lasted a respectable eight years.

You may recognize the voice of host E.G. Marshall, the actor that carried the "They're Creeping Up on You!" segment in the Stephen King / George Romero film Creepshow. Upson Pratt and his "bug problem" are forever burned into my memory.

Cons are cancelled (with good reason) but Cherry Capital Comic Con just announced their 2020 Gary Reed Independent Creator of the Year Award winner.

Kasey Pierce deservedly won, but finalists Corinne Roberts, David Hayes, and Jay Jacot also deserved this award.

I have many friendships built at Traverse City, Michigan's convention when they first began. The highlight of my own career was when indie publishing giant Gary Reed asked if he could publish me in his newly revived Caliber Comics. This felt right mainly because Gary was such an deep, thoughtful writer himself and, hey, he liked what I was doing!

You can look into all of the talented finalists here.

Does anyone speak Italian? WHAT are the cooks saying near the end of Suspiria? At 1:24.

I suspect something sinister.

Take care of yourself. Life is short and a damned nice place to be if you keep moving. Relaxing is essential for short periods. Read. Breathe. Then get out there and (safely) make someone happy because that's why you're here -- for others.

In glorious service to our Aazurn overlords,
