DOCTOR SLEEP Trailer (2019)

Stay-At-Home Theater: DOCTOR SLEEP on HBO. I came into this without expectations,
and was pleasantly surprised. I have Stephen King's Doctor Sleep novel in my
book case but I haven't had an opportunity to read it. I've got to admit that
watching this film adaptation reminded me so much of King's work that
I felt a was reading the novel. Great direction, great cast, good special
effects, and some truly creepy and disturbing images. Recommended.
FIVE STARS. (Who cares what the critics say?)

  1. I've worked in the library since 2012, and I must say, Stephen King is hitting a late-career stride. His stuff is very good, most of the time. I read some of his books in a half-assed way in high school and remember some of the "made-for-TV" adaptations of his work, but the most recent novels (post 2011) touch on many different genres and characters types, and movie makers seem to be finding decent directors more often than not. If you enjoyed this film, I'd recommend 11/22/63, JOYLAND (personal coming-of-age favorite), THE INSTITUTE (Goodreads 2019 Readers Choice Winner).
