Stay-At-Home Theater: THE GODFATHER, CODA: THE DEATH OF
MICHAEL CORLEONE . . . I did not see the new 2020 remastered version that
played in select theaters. I watched the original on network television.
Too long. Drags in many places, but it does have its' moments. However, Sofia
Coppola takes the air of of every scene she is in. She may be a good director, but
she recites her lines like she's reading them for the first time. Maybe daddy Francis
Ford Coppola couldn't or wouldn't provide her direction. Even the death scene that she
is in is kind of wooden. Sorry to nitpick, but this really ruined the film for me.
But it wasn't the only thing. Still I don't regret watching to the end. Just glad I wasn't
confined to theater seat. TWO AND ONE-HALF STARS.
