MANIAC OF NEW YORK, VOL. 1: THE DEATH TRAIN

Writer: Elliott Kalan
Artist: Andrea Mutti

Slashing His Way into Your Heart!

Four years ago, a masked slasher began stalking the streets of New York City.

Maniac Harry is inhuman, unkillable and unstoppable. Which is why the authorities’ solution has been to ignore him, and let New Yorkers adapt to a world where death can strike at any moment. When Maniac Harry starts killing his way through the subway system, trauma-haunted political aide Gina Greene and disgraced NYPD detective Zelda Pettibone become determined to go rogue and destroy him. But how can they fight a monster when they can’t fight City Hall?

This is what happens when terror becomes the new normal. A frightening, thought-provoking, sometimes funny, always timely tale of murder, obsession and urban living, this volume contains the entire first arc, issues #1-5.

...so brilliant in its simultaneous subversion and embrace of the sub-genre’s tropes.” – Sam Stone, CBR.com

NUCLEAR FAMILY, VOL. 1

NUCLEAR FAMILY, VOL. 1: RADIO NOWHERE

Writer: Stephanie Phillips
Artist: Tony Shasteen

Tomorrow Isn’t What it Used to Be.

America, 1957. Elvis dominates the airwaves and apple pie is served after every meal. But, with the dark cloud of nuclear holocaust looming, Korean War vet Tim McClean’s major concern is taking care of his family in the atomic age.

When the first bomb does drop on an unexpecting Midwest city, Tim and his family find themselves plunged into a strange new world, where what’s left of the Unites States has gone underground while continuing to wage war on Russia with unthinkable tactics.

Based on Philip K. Dick’s short story “Breakfast at Twilight,” NUCLEAR FAMILY is Cold War-era science fiction at its most timely and terrifying. This volume contains the complete first arc, issues #1-5.

Another excellent comic from writer Stephanie Phillips...a wonderful take on a cold war nightmare. Philip K. Dick would be proud.” – Jacob Cordas, Comics Bookcase

DREAMING EAGLES –
SOFTCOVER EDITION, 2nd PRINTING

Writer: Garth Ennis
Artist: Simon Coleby

“We had our dreams too, you know. Long before Doctor King had his.”

Inspired by true events, Garth Ennis and Simon Coleby’s DREAMING EAGLES tells the story of the first African American fighter pilots to join the United States Army Air Force in WWII and whose humble beginnings in Tuskegee, Alabama propelled them into the deadly skies above Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich.

Not only were they instrumental against the Nazi war machine, but also braved an equally great challenge, overcoming everyday bigotry amongst their fellow American soldiers as well as civilians at home. High in the heavens, they fought a battle that would change their country and their world forever.

Released to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Tuskegee Airmen, this softcover volume contains the entire series, issues #1-6.

It’s the perfect combination of a captivating story, characters to care about, and artistic spectacle; in short, everything you’d want from a comic.” – Martin Doyle, Big Comic Page

SHADOW DOCTOR

SHADOW DOCTOR

The Past Wasn’t Always So Black and White.

Years in the making, this is the true story of writer Peter Calloway’s grandfather, Nathaniel Calloway, a Black man who graduated from medical school in the early 1930s. Unable to get work at any Chicago hospital (because he was Black) and unable to secure a loan from a bank to start his own practice (because he was Black), Nathaniel turned to the only other source of money in Prohibition-era Chicago: the Mafia, run by none other than Al Capone.

One of the most profoundly fascinating, startling and significant stories AfterShock has ever published, SHADOW DOCTOR features the artwork of Eisner Award-winner Georges Jeanty (The American WayX-Tremists) and covers illustrated by the inimitable Mark Chiarello! This volume contains issues #1-5.

SHADOW DOCTOR blew me away.” – Chris Beveridge, The Fandom Post

JUST ANNOUNCED

Bylines in Blood Cover

The future. The very concept of truth has died. Politicians invent their own facts, and independent newspapers no longer exist. In this world, private detectives serve as ronin, searching out the hard truths that people are desperate to keep hidden.

The best of these is Satya, known as Lady Dick, a former journalist turned gumshoe who runs every lead to ground. But Satya has just received her hardest case yet: her old editor has been murdered. Someone wanted him silenced, and the trail points toward the highest bastions of power. To find justice for her friend, she'll have to put everything – and everyone – she knows at risk.

A prophetic neo-noir thriller with unexpected twists at every turn, BYLINES IN BLOOD is co-created by Ringo Award nominated writer Erica Schultz (M3Forgotten HomeStrange Tails) and comic writer and former newspaper crime reporter Van Jensen(Two DeadCryptocracySuperman: Man of Tomorrow), aided and abetted by Spanish art sensation Aneke (DC Comics BombshellsLegendery: Red Sonja).
