Visually striking, derealization nonsense. I hated it by the end.

While the use of the space on the page was super creative and original, the story's actual writing for me was total trash in the end. And I try not to say it like that, and be more "journalistic" in my reviews, but it's how I feel.

What was the point of this? A hopeless, confusing, multiverse narrative that begins right back where it started? How edgy. The only thing this does is perfectly illicit an atmosphere of dread and anxiety. To me, a horror book needs more than that accomplishment -- albeit a stellar accomplishment.

I was as disappointed as I was with Kirkman's "Outcast." Again, layouts and panels were fantastic but became a gimmick, but the story itself was a stinking, fractured corpse. Very little closure and tons of questions. Man, I hated it.
