Amy Chu
Carmilla The First Vampire by Amy Chu
Amy Chu is a comics and animation writer, currently working on the upcoming Borderlands mini-series and Carmilla: The First Vampire through the Dark Horse Berger Books imprint. Her most recent work is the Netflix anime series DOTA: Dragon’s BloodRick & Morty, and Archie. For DC and Marvel, she has written popular characters such as Wonder WomanPoison IvyDeadpoolAnt-Man, and Iron Man. She is also known for her run on Red Sonja, and is the first woman to write the KISS and Green Hornet series. For children, she has written the graphic novels Sea Sirens and Sky Island (Penguin Random House) and Ana & the Cosmic Race (Papercutz). Amy is a member of the faculty at the Kubert School and the School of Visual Arts and a board member of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a double bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design from MIT and East Asian Studies from Wellesley College. Garth Ennis
The Boys by Garth Ennis
Garth Ennis broke into the American Comic scene in 1991, taking over the writing reins on Hellblazer. After a successful four-year run, Ennis moved on to create Preacher, a 66-issue epic that ran from 1995 -2000. In addition to these two ground-breaking series, he also had lengthy runs on DC's The Demon and Hitman. Ennis is also the mastermind behind The Boys, a 72-issue comic story which began at DC's Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment with issue #7 and now adapted as a smash hit on Amazon Prime Video.
Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Alien by Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Phillip Kennedy Johnson broke into comics in 2015 with the BOOM! Studios miniseries Last Sons of America and Warlords of Appalachia. These projects led him to DC Comics and Marvel, where he would write such characters/titles as AquamanCaptain AmericaBatmanMarvel Zombies: ResurrectionExtreme Carnage, and his creator-owned epic fantasy series, DC Black Label’s The Last God. He took over the Superman and Action Comics titles in 2020, and currently writes the ongoing Alien series at Marvel Comics. He has also been published with Archaia, IDW, Aftershock, Dynamite, and Scout Comics.
Howard Mackie
Ghost Rider Return of Vengeance by Howard Mackie
Howard Mackie was dragged kicking and screaming into writing his first comic book (Iron Man #211) a few years ago, and has been working in comic book publishing ever since. Chronicling the adventures of Ghost RiderSpider-ManThe X-MenX-FactorGambitWolverineBatman, and countless other characters for Marvel, DC, and Archie Comics. His most recent work for Marvel was Ghost Rider: Return of Vengeance. Pat Shand
Destiny NY Valentines Day Special by Pat Shand
Pat Shand is best known as the writer/co-creator of Destiny NYSnap Flash HustleBreathlessLittle GirlPrison WitchGangster Ass Barista, and Afterglow. He has worked as a comics writer since 2011, creating stories for Black Mask Studios, Devil's Due, Joe Books, IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Avatar Press, and many more. In addition to his work in the comics industry, he is an accomplished playwright, screenwriter, and novelist, and has written five original Marvel novels. He runs Space Between Entertainment in New York, where he lives with his wife Amy and their army of cats.
Paul Storrie
The Viking Queen by Paul Storrie
Paul D. Storrie has written comics for numerous publishers, including the recently collected Harley Quinn & the Gotham Girls for DC, Star Trek Alien Spotlight: Andorians for IDW, and The Viking Queen at Source Point Press, His most recent work can be found in the Eisner-nominated one-shot John Carpenter Presents Storm Kids: Stanley's Ghost.
"These writers have created some of the greatest stories in comics," said Marc Nathan, show promoter for the Baltimore Comic-Con. "You've got indie darlings, you've got mainstream rockstars, and you've got crossover talent too with creators working for other forms of media such as television and film.
