VOYAGERS on HBO: Instead of lavish special effects, this one concentrates
on the subject matter and the related drama aboard a generational starship
headed for a new planet to begin humanity all over again. The initial crew
will not likely be around in the 86 years it will take to reach their new destination.
It will be up to their children and/or their grandchildren. Programmed for
their missions, the crew are mostly servants to the cause until . . . they rebel,
refuse the daily drink that surpasses their natural urges and all hell breaks
loose. A thoughtful commentary on human nature. We're doomed!
