HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES on IFC network, part of their Halloween
Rob Zombie Family Values package. Second time I've seen this film, and
it still holds up. If you weren't too upset by the crazy family in the original
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (which this film pays homage to, also
THE HILLS HAVE EYES) then you may be able to stomach the even
weirder group here. While most films of this type feature a Final Girl (the
lone survivor) don't expect director/writer Rob Zombie to stick to the
template. Very bloody, very gruesome, be forewarned. My favorite part of
this was seeing some now famous actors in early roles (Rainn Wilson,
Walter Groggins, etc) all upstaged by Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding. THREE STARS.
