SPOOKIES, featured on THE LAST DRIVE IN SHOW with JOE BOB BRIGGS
on the Shudder streaming service. One of those low budget films that
is so bad it's good. I watched this mainly for the fact-filled commentary
from Joe Bob Briggs - how the film was funded by an English investor,
ran into production difficulties, had three different directors, and several
overlapping scripts/plots. End result: it just doesn't make any sense.
This was a flop when released, earning just $17,000 in box office sales.
However, perhaps due to being featured frequently on USA Network's
Up All Night - it made over $1 million in VHS sales. Special effects are
pretty good, considering. Acting is poor or non-existent. Still, I don't regret
watching this. I laughed a lot. TWO AND ONE-HALF STARS.
