STARVE ACRE on Shudder TV . . . . .
A good folk horror film that depends on atmosphere, a building sense of dread, and good acting
for its' scares. A minimal amount of blood and special effects, but quite disturbing. That
ending was particularly nasty. FOUR STARS.

Starve Acre is an unsettling British folk horror tale set in rural 1970s Yorkshire. Directed and written by Daniel Kokotajlo, it's based on the award-winning 2019 novel Starve Acre by Andrew Michael Hurley.
When their son starts acting strangely, a couple unwittingly allow sinister forces into their home, awakening a long-dormant ancient evil rooted deep in the countryside.
