RENFIELD: I watched this spin on the Dracula legend on a long return flight
from Munich to Toronto two weeks ago.
I just can't sleep on planes. I was surprised by how good and
how funny this was. Over the top on blood and gore, but the humor saves it.
Nicholas Hoult is great as Renfield, who wants out of his toxic relationship
and gets into a new one with a rookie cop as he uses his powers (when he
eats insects he gets superhuman strength) to keep her out of danger. Nicholas
Cage as Dracula is so campy that his performance is awesome. FOUR STARS.
