Hello from Aazurn Publishing Secret Headquarters! So far the snow has been a depressing rain, perfect for writing and drawing horror. I was going to shut down, but the new year has me energized for new things. I hope you made it through the celebrating!
It's a tough time for many this time of year, especially with the corporate holiday build-up now beginning in October. It's OK to feel let down, you aren't feeble or damaged, many of us go through post-holiday unhappies. You can still do many of the things that made you smile during the holiday, it's just a date on the calendar after all. Take care.
I'm thinking of running the new Webtoon Gods of Aazurn: Witches twice a week, because I'm an idiot. Meanwhile, this is a great time to catch up with the story here: https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/gods-of-aazurn/list?title_no=202820. Maybe a hiatus is good for pulling in those important Likes, giving you time to actually read the damn things.
Today, the forced extension to copyright terms by corporate Disney expires and, for the first time in more than 20 years, tens of thousands of works published in 1923 will enter the public domain in the United States. Works by Marcel Duchamp, John Steinbeck, D.W. Griffith and many more are included in this.
So you can finally use Cecil B. DeMille’s 1923 silent classic, "The Ten Commandments" (pictured above) in that hip hop video you were itching to produce. NOTE: I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
Caution, winter is drizzle right now, but it's coming.
